Hey, from Calgary, Canada (Western Canada).

So I'm planning on getting back into turtles, I can't resist them (I owned one a few years back when I was a child), but this time, I want to make a good home for them (thanks to the internet, and this site). Only problem now is finding someone which is selling, since it's illegal to sell aquatic turtles here (but not tortoises ), but okay to own (pretty strange). Most RES and other aquatic turtles are driven over here from neighboring cities and Provinces, but there haven't been any sales for quite some time, . The city's law on this has been pretty lax, sometimes I could even find them in smaller pet shops, but I haven't found any so far. Prices for them are also pretty steep, anywhere from $50-$150 per RES (due to supply and demand, ).

Welcome. It's a good idea to start planning and purchasing the set up you'll need for your turtles so that once you get them, they can begin to adapt rather than waiting until you've got them. Good luck!

You should come to the Us the Petsmarts around here sell water turtles under $30.00. It's awsome out here!!!
