i just recieved 2 red eared sliders for my birthday from my boyfriend. we named them fiona and hector. i'm super excited about them but new to this whole turtle thing..so this seems like it will be lots of help. they are very shy right now...will they warm up to me soon?

Yes it takes a few days for them to get adjusted. Make sure you read the main site, and all the stickies on the forum. It will answer a lot of questions and also give you the basics of good care for your new turtles. Don't be alarmed if they don't eat for a few days...it's completely normal. I have a 5 year old RES named Zeke.
