I'm new here.

My 3" RES is named Kibbles
My 3" YBS is named Bits
My 1-1/2" RES is named Sugar - his/her ears are orange

I have them all in a 40 gallon tank. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I have some beautiful pics. I have goldfish, tiger fish, snails, and a pleco. My turts don't pay any attention to the little fish. But they did eat 2 of the big beautiful goldfish I had but they don't bother the little ones.

In the beginning, I was feeding Kibbles and Bits too much food and protein and their shells pyramided. I am feeding them properly now and they have not gotten any worse. Sugar's shell looks good.

I also have a female miniature toy poodle named Diamond
and a male Corgie named Soldier
a female cat named Socks
a male cat named Tigger

I wouldn't get another turtle. They will probably just end up fighting and then you will have to have two seperate tanks and set-ups.
3 turtles,
3 cats,
& fish.

I have two RES, the first one I got was named by my 4 year old brother "Alvaro" after his best friend (he came up with the name after I explained that pets are like your best friends and you have to take real good care of them, so he figured they should have the same name:P)
The second one I named Lolo, but I think it's a girl so it might change to Lola:)

Before we had a turtle our friend Caitlin had a tortus (still has it) named Chrichech (it's russian I have no idea how to spell it). I could never remember it's name but I knew it was russian so I'd call it "sputnik" "stalin" and any kind of variation that I knew was russian.

My wife decided because of all that laughter she got out of me trying to remember Caitlin's tortus' name that ours would be Sputnik.

Sputnik - RES
Trapper - Feline - After Trapper John from the Film/TV Series MASH
Kato (the bear) - Feline - Adoptee. Named Kato by the rescue center, "the bear" added on by me because of his physique.

i have yet to think of a name. i dont wanna do anything generic (i.e a ninja turtle name, or shelly or something) i figure i'll wait to see what her personality is like and then name her. but i'll be happy to take any suggestions.

Well, I named mine jericho because he has 13 little scutes, and the mayans, as well as the chinese along with various other cultures noticed that because of their round shape, as well as their 13 scutes they represented the moon, with its 13 cycles per year. Jericho is hebrew for moon :)

@ LOBO: I named my recent turtle addition Mikey (after Michaelangelo, my favorite teenage mutant ninja turtle). Sure, I know it's generic, but I had trouble thinking of anything else at the time! However, I have to realize that there's a 50% chance that Mikey will end up being a girl, and then I'll be scrambling to rename ... ;)
