I just joined this forum after lurking for a while. I bought a baby RES randomly from some shady people in China Town a couple of months ago, for 10$ they gave it to me in a little plastic cage with little water in it and a thing of food and told me thats all I would need to buy. But I had a feeling it needed a bit more. ha. So I took it to the pet store the next day and got everything I needed. I really didnt know what I was getting myself into when I got the little guy from somebody off the street. But im so happy I got him. I have him in a 20 gallon long right now, but soon will be upgrading as well as building him an above tank basking area. His name is Apollo and he is growing like mad. He cant even turn around in the original "tank" i bought him in anymore. Hes so cool. I wish I could build him a pond, but I do live in downtown chicago so that wont be happening anytime soon. Ive become obsessed with buying things for his tank, I have to hold myself back when I bike by the pet store. So, I just wanted to say hello to everybody here, and introduce myself and my RES. Ill post some pictures soon enough for everybody to see his beauty. Peace.
