Hi all. I am pleased to be here on behalf of my two adorable red-eared sliders, Tommy and Tina (we know Tommy's a boy because, well, you know...and the jury's still out on Tina). They were given to me by my mom (yes, she used to get us turtles from Coney Island and we kept them in a small tupperware as kids!), two and a half years ago, but this time I knew better. I have invested BIG TIME in a great habitat, and I hope they're happy. I have a 120-gallon tank for the critters (both about 4" in shell size now), who have driven me crazy with their share of "issues" (i.e., swollen eyes, not eating, etc.), but things seem to be cool right now. Hope to post pix when I can. I never imagined how much work these cuties would be, but I must admit I adore them! Nice to "meet" you all! Val

Hey turtlemang! Thanks for writing - yes, my tank sure beats tupperware for sure, and it seems they're much happier. Glad there are places like this to learn and enlighten ourselves to the needs of these cute critters! Be well!

Thank you! Yeah, it's changed a bit, but still fun. They were supposed to recreate the old Steeplechase but who knows. Gotta love those Nathan's hotdogs and cheese fries! Don't like the sale of turtles to unknowing/ uncaring families, but at least I got to save two babies! Thanks for writing. Val
