My RES Story:
I have to admit that I did not know how to properly care for my very first RES, Art, and he did not make it very long.
Then a few years later a friend of mine brought a tiny one home from the very same place. They are so irresistable darn it! Shortly after she became pregnant and was told she could not handle such a small turtle for fear of disease. That is how I inherited him, well she thought it was a girl at first, but I changed the name from Lilly to Slyde. He is about 3 years old now and doing wonderfully thanks to this website and the information found within...I am very greatful and I am sure that Slyde is too!
We recently (permanently) upgraded his tank from 29 gal to 90 gal and wow what an expense! Everything adds up and before you know it you have spent $800!! It was well worth it the moment we dropped him in and he sunk to the bottom, looked around like "what the heck?", and about a half hour later he had only managed to explore 1/3 of the tank!! He was so cute about it...
I will post pictures in the indoor tank section soon...
THANKS!!!
