Hello everyone. I am 16 male and I accidentally bought an RES about 1" and a half, a 10"12"12" tank and pellets. I didn't know that I still need to purchase things like UVB Light, Wate Heater, Filter, etc. So now, I don't have any money to buy such and my mum wouldn't give me money. All I want to do now is release my RES because it might just die if it's with me. Also, the tank is too small, according to here. Please help me decide! Thanks! I feel bad about myself.

Hello. Welcome to the forum. Do you have any friends with turtles as pets? Maybe you can give/loan your adopted turtle to them, until you can save for enough money to buy the necessary things. Once you've saved enough, you may get your turtle back.

Welcome to the forum. Can you get an advance in $ or do extra chores? Keeping a turtle doesn't have to be very expensive but it can require extra effort. Releasing a turtle might be illegal in your area. It will be bad for native species and for your turtle as well.

Don't feel bad. At least you care. Where do you live? You can try yard sales, flea markets, second hand stores, check at the pet shop to see if they have goods that are damaged, but usable (like a dented lamp).... Just be creative. You don't need anything fancy, just the basics.
Best wishes.
