Hi everyone,
I'm so glad to have found this site. I am a a teacher and a fairly new owner of 3 Red Eared Sliders - they are classroom pets and I will be adopting two of them at the end of the year. One will be going back home with the student it belongs to. I will be posting various questions & look forward to advice & suggestions from other members.

Welcome to the forum. What is their set-up like?

Right now it's very crude - a 30 gallon tank, light, and a ramp type basking rock that they seem to love. I am still trying to find a filter. I wasn't sure how many I'd have to keep until I spoke to the studen't mom. Unfortunately they were not in a suitable tank before coming to my class, so I'm hoping to improve things for them!

Keep your eyes on freecycle.org and craigslist.com for great deals on things you might need/want for your set up. As a fellow teacher I would also mention that these are classroom pets that are meant to be looked at and not handled. Hand washing a must! I keep my two at home, but more power to ya for keeping them at school! Welcome!
