Hello! I'm new here, and looking for more information on my new babies. I have to RESs. Their names are Victor, and Schwan. I was given them as a housewarming gift last friday, and just recently put them in a 10 gallon tank. I know thats not quite big enough, but it will have to do for now.

Hope to learn some more information from here, seems like a great place for acurate info!! :)

Welcome! That's one heck of a house warming gift. Does the giver realize how much work he/she just gave you?

Welcome! Turtles are a lot of work, but very rewarding. I love my Zeke. I rescued him.

The person who got them for me has one RES. I have been talking to her about wanting one (without either of us realizing how much work they are). She has a baby too, Spike. Since reading this site, I have been telling her how much more we need to care for them properly.

I have had a RES in the past, as a child, and I didn't have any of these things, and the turtle lived happily for years. So this really is a new experience for both of us. Thanks for making me feel welcome, I am getting alot of questions answered!!!
