Thats what took my by surprise. My parents and friends with turtles have been helping me out with it though. I got the tank for free and the lamp for the heating bulb for free too. I agree that its all worth it.

Lol, ya I'm in that same situation. Got mine for $5 and will proably be spending about $200 tomorrow on equ. But he's soooo cute, well worth it. My son just loves him, he named him Salad, no clue why. I try not to let my son tuch him too much just look.
