I've noticed a spot on Tex's shell. It's been there since I've gotten him- which was about a month ago- and I thought that since he was so little it was just where his yolk sac was attached- but now I'm not so sure... I'm afraid it's going to turn into shell rot or something- what do you think I should do???

This is what it looked like after 10 minutes of forced basking

This is after 45. Then he was put back in the water so he could be a happy turtle again =)

Thanks in advance!!

It doesn't look red or infected to me. Just keep it clean and make sure his water is very clean.

why do you have to force him to bask? Was it just to take the photo, or will he not bask on his own?

That spot is from where the yolk sac was, I'm not sure how long it takes to completely heal but it should be closing soon.
