so, as most of you know one of my turtles came close to drowning about 2-3 weeks ago i believe. took him to the vet, they said there isn't much they can do for baby res but they did give him medicine. he's still the same. but i still don't know if he's sick..or just a little slow. he doesn't have anything coming out of his nose, his eyes are fine. however, his shell is a little soft. I really want to put him back in with my other turtle, and my parents think he's fine..but i am still worried my other turtle will get sick. do you know how long an RI usually lasts before the turtle dies? Like i said, he would have had it for about 3 weeks now and the vet hasn't really changed him in anyway. I did a lot of changes to the tank. I didn't know before that you shouldn't have gravel on the bottom, so i took that out..and put a few river rocks in. I already noticed with the gravel out there is a change in the water, which is good. I was thinking maybe give it 2-3 weeks and see how the "sick" turtle is doing..if he's still alive, then i'll put him back in the tank..maybe it would help him actually??

like vivi said, sometimes meds can cause a turtle to slow down and lose appetite. what symptoms is he showing that makes you think he's sick?

if I remember right, your turtles are very young hatchlings, correct? soft shells are normal for hatchlings.

What do you have him in now? Does he have an appetite?
