Don't worry Laquisha the Red Eared Slider is going to go to the Vet.

However before her appointment I wanted to know if this has happened to you or if you have any idea of what I'm talking about.

The other day my girl friend noticed that this finger long dark green thing was sticking out of Laquishas anus. It didn't appear to look like a prolapse so she pulled it out and it was flat.

Is this some kind of worm, most of my online research has not turned up something that looks like what came out.

Any ideas would be helpful
as Is aid the red eared slider will be seeing a vet.

She has not acted sick her eyes are clear and she is active.
Just worried she has a worm because there was pieces of the same material in the water.

From your description it doesn't sound like a penis but maybe you should take a look at this and make sure. http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewt ... ht=#153053

It could be a piece of her intestines, but I believe those are pinkish. Are you sure it wasn't a uber poo? That would account for the greenness. Does it look like worm bits on the bottom of the tank or just poo bits? The male parts are typically a dark purple or black, but she may also be a he. It's good that you are willing to take her to a vet so quickly. Update us with what the vet says.

Can you post a picture? If it is dark brownish green, you might have a male RES who just started flashing his penis at you! They do that once they reach sexual maturity (once their shell reaches 4" in length). Does your turtle have very long front claws?

How long have you had this turtle? Do you have any gravel in the tank? What have you been feeding him?
