I don't know what that (180) means. I do know the water here is really bad.

I think it's a combination of the water, the cleanliness of the water and perhaps the quality of the UVB light (and how much the turtle basks).

180 ppm means very hard water. So, I pretty much answered my own question.

Before the move, he would bask a lot; almost all day. He was rarely in the water.

The UVB light is a Repti Glo 5.0 Compact Tropical Terrarium Lamp.
