The yellow areas on my female red eared slider are turning white. Im not sure if its shell rot or something else. i was wondering if i should take her in to the vet. I went on vacation and left her with an automatic feeder. there must've been a problem with the power that caused the filter to shut off for a second so i arrived to it making a grinding noise. I have the two pictures of her shell. The Second one is a part of her shell a few months ago and the first one i took today. They are both in the same spot but the second isn't in landscape (sorry)

Hard to say, can you post a picture of the entire shell? My initial thought is that it might be some shedding going on, making those scutes lighten up in appearance.
