Hello, i bought a little red ear the past Fall and at first it was looking good. I also have a six years old :msgreen: , so i thought it was gonna be an "easy job", but it didn't. I put the little one in a different place. During winter i thought that the little one was in hibernation, as it stopped eating at first and then it kept sleeping. Now it's still in that condition and while i tried to wake it up, it did't open it's eyes, but it is moving. I thought that it may have some issue with it's eyes but it also not eating. I tried to warm it and then the shell became very soft and it moved for a while. I think we must visit the doctor.

A vet visit would be a good idea. We don't recommend trying hibernation, especially with young RES. Is the bigger one awake?

Sounds like some kind of respiratory problem, although a full-blown infection probably would have killed it by now. How long has this been happening, and when it does move, how well does it swim? The soft shell isn't normal, either. What lights and pellets do you use?

http://www.wetwebmedia.com/fwsubwebinde ... disart.htm It's probably lacking of vitamin A and it has swollen eyelids, so i am gonna visit the vet in order to give some vitamins and antibiotic if needed.

Swollen eyelids could be caused by a number of issues. Cod liver oil will address it quickly if that is case.
