I've been giving Tortuga oral antibitics (Baytril 1/4 cc daily for a week and then 1/4 cc every other day). However when I put the liquid in her mouth, it looks like she pretty much spits it all out. How do I ensure she's actually swallowing the stuff?

I'm a bit frustrated.

Thanks

You might need to tube feed her

Forcing a turtle to take any food or medication orally is tricky. A false move can be dangerous for your turtle. I would recommend going back to the vet that prescribed the meds and get a lesson from him/her.

Well, I bred birds for years and have tube fed baby birds and still have the proper tubes. I've put 2 calls into my vet in as many days and have yet to receive a call back. I'll be in the office tomorrow, I'll ask them then.

Thanks

Is the turtle eating at all? If so, you could put some of the medication on a pellet/on food.
