That looks really nasty and painful. Have you gone to see a vet yet?

If you go to general care- I had posted a topic about transporting an RES- it should be at the top of the list! Someone had posted to me a link about how to transport RES turts safely on long and short trips! (sorry I didn't just link it- I'm not sure how to do that ) I hope that'll be helpful! And I hope little Sandy is okay!!

pretty much. Use the smallest container possible. You dont want to give him any room to flip himself over. Keep it warm and out of drafts and you'll be fine.

I'm so glad that Sandy's going to the vet's.
I don't have very much money myself and I know it can be a depressing thought spending what you don't have, I'm so in debt from school that its to the point where I'm pretty much numb to it... which is easy considering my loans don't start coming up until next year, that'll be a 40,000 wakeup call haha. It's not easy managing money, and it seems like no matter how much you have, it's never enough.
But anyhow, I'm really really glad that you're doing the right thing and taking Sandy to the vets. In terms of travel... when I moved Leo to Colorado this summer (from NY, a looong trip to say the least) I used a little container and moist towels. But in the cooler weather now, I'd be wary of drafts so keep watch of his temperature, also make sure that your container has airvents in it, I ended up buying one of those reptile plastic crates from petsmart that you see hermit crabs in or the like, but I suppose if you can't put holes in your tupperware you can use a sturdy cardboard box. And my turtle liked having something to bury into so make the towel sort of loose so sandy can hide in it to feel safe.

Good Luck!

Ouch! That looks painful. Glad he's seeing a vet. If it's cool where you are, don't have the towel wet, damp is more like it. You can put a cloth over him for him to burrow in. If it's dark, he'll most likely sleep. Good luck. Let us know what happens.
