i got my girlfriend a red ear slider with all the proper equipment.

-100 watt water heater(up to 30 gallons)
-filter(up to 40 gallons)
-zoo med dock
-basking lamp
-20 gallon tank
-thermometer

the little guy is barely an inch long,he hasnt eaten anything yet but i read on this site that it is normal for them and to give them some time to adjust to their new enviroment.he's very active and scared of me and my girlfriend, everytime we catch him basking he notices us and quickly jumps off of his dock and into the water.his water temp is a constant 81 degrees and his basking spot is 91 degrees.but, just a little while ago we noticed that he swam in a circle realy realy fast.we were puzzled by this, anyone know if this is normal,oh and is it normal for him to sometimes sleep under the dock or on the bottom of the tank.mine usually sleep on their dock so i dont know.

I would drop his water temp a degree or two but other than that its normal. It usually takes some time for them to adjust in their new environment. How long has he been in his new set up? You can leave greens and cuttlebone floating in the water for him to nibble on.

possibly, my turt does NOT like any fruit whatsoever, and she EATS. If you really want to incorporate those pellets, try offering them everyday even if he doesnt eat them right away. I did that with romaine, and my turt eats it now.
