Any other info? Any meds? Any special follow-up care? (I hope so)

I hope everything turns out okay with your lil ones! I just read this whole thing and I'm really disappointed that a lot of vets weren't doing payment plans for you- I used to work at a vet and Dr. Kit would have never turned down an animal ever because he was compassionate about what he was doing and Dr. Creasy would behind the scenes always do things free for people with little cash because she loved the animals so much- you have to wonder why some vets get into that business when they seem to have no compassion for the animals? Its just frustrating! I'm really glad you found a vet who would work with you because that means your lil one got the care he needed! Update us on what happened at the vets because I'm sure a lot of the more experienced and experted in the subject on here can make sure you make the best of the antibiotics and caring for him in the process of the healing! Hope he's doing better now! :)

How's he doing? Is the vet having you clean the area? You really need to keep the water clean as well.

you're full of it. i'm sorry to be blunt but if you don;t have any money then how did you afford your turts and the setup in the first place. Look, the turtle is suffering, it just can't TELL you in words. Get some money and take it to the vet or give it up to a turtle rescue org. Good day.
From the homegrowers soul, straight to his lungs. That's the method that I myself find fun. Start from seed and then you'll see, just how fun homegrowing can be.

If you had read ALL the posts in this topic, you'd have noticed that she DID take the turtle to the vet.

She did say she was taking him to the vet ... Who knows if she did or not... Her response, I believe in the other post, was that ... It was fine. hmmm.

You really have to love how judgmental people are in here. They didn't have to come here looking for advice at all, they could have let it go and not cared whatsoever. Give them some credit, there are people out there who don't even try to get their turtle to the vet let alone look up information on how to take care of them....

And in the other thread, just in case you're too lazy to look it up..

are you calling me lazy, flutterby? judgemental?? I read all the posts, I tried and everyone else did to give her advice. She tried to SHOOT everything down. At the end she was "sooo happy" but before that if you read back, she was not willing to get the $50.00 to go to the vet. She said she didnt have it and her family wasnt rich. Im glad she finally did something about it.. :x

Guys, please don't fight here, emotions/sarcasm are very hard to understand in text, so please always assume the least hurtful meaning is meant.

Not everyone knows what they're getting into when they buy RES. When someone tries their hardest and is willing to do anything it makes it harder when people who are supposed to be supportive are discouraging you.

And for the record Honey, I wasn't talking about just you.

I didn't intend to get a scuffle started. I just wanted to know how the turtle made out. And I did read the other post, but "i took it to the vets" isn't really a descriptive update and so I was wondering whether the turtle was doing better, eating, etc. I find it useless to post the same thing in multiple forums so I chose one forum in which to post, I hardly find that to be lazy.

So, for the record Flutterby, I hope you weren't talking about me.

Megcornell- I'm pretty sure flutterby was mostly talking about da sauce up there- they had posted a pretty rude comment! But I agree- she cared enough to get on here and ask what needed to be done so I think we should assume that the turtle was taken to the vet and that everything is okay! I realize she isn't posting anymore but right now she needs to read encouraging and supportive messages and not ones that are assuming she didn't do it! If she hasn't then all we can do is hope that sooner then later she finds the money and can get the turtle to the vet or that she already has and the sore is healing like it should! So again- da sauce was the one who decided to post about how she needed to take the turtle to the vet- when clearly in posts before theirs she already was and actually had! You- like the rest of us- just wanted to know the status on the turtle! :) It's all good!

p.s. da sauce from now on try to be more informed on a topic before you post! :(
