Urgent Care :: was this a worm i found?!!!

i lookedi n my tank and saw a thin brown thing floating at the bottom. it looked about 3 inches and it looked like a piece of hair. i went to pull it out and it felt like it was stuck to the bottom of the tank and there was sum tension when i pulled it out. i looked at it and it didnt seem to move. but i thought it mite have moved very very slightly. i dont no if this was a worm or not. was it. what do i do

Could you post a picture of one if you see another? It's impossible to even guess from your description (it was floating but appeared to be stuck to the bottom of the tank?). Sometimes, when there is leftover food and other debris in the tank (and the tank needs a cleaning) dark worm-like objects (they don't move) stick to the tank and objects in it. Does this sound like what you saw? Are there more of them?
