That's good to hear! I don't know if it is any consolation, but I have had my hatchling for 5 weeks now with the Reptisun compact 5.0 & so far so good.....maybe that is a better light choice for you too?

I was thinking about just moving it farther away but i don't think i want to chance it, i'll just buy a new one, maybe the 5.0. I'm just so relieved he's looking better!

A quick update- he seems to be fine now, his eyes still look a little wierd but they are looking better every day, and he is active and begging for food all the time so i'm guessing he's better. Thank you all so much for your help!

Glad to hear it! He still needs UVB, so you might want to reconsider the distance of the bulb or even a different one.

I know I'm a bit late on this topic, but my turtle's eyes got very puffy because, even though i use a water conditioner, I didn't let it circulate long enough to let it take affect, after I cleaned the tank. I think it was jenaero who told me to put cod liver oil on his eyes. They were completely healed the next day.
