Sounds like your little sick turtle is getting some very personalized care. I'm glad the vet is giving antibiotics. If the turt has a respiratory infection the antibiotics are going to be necessary to cure it.

My thought is pneumonia. Years ago my baby stopped basking, ate very little, started blowing bubbles then started to swim sideways and stopped eating all together. If you listened very closely you could hear her wheezing. I did some research on the web and found they are very subceptable to pneumonia. Fortunately my regular vet treats reptiles. Brought her in, she was started on 1 injection of antibiotics every other day for 6 days. With the 2nd shot on board she started to eat and bask and swim all the good things turtles do. You really have to be careful of the water temperture, especially when they are babies. I swear the hardest part of the whole ordeal was giving her the shot yikes she was only the size of a quarter. I hope the vet seriously takes in account the pneumonia because it can be fatal if not caught on time. Good Luck!

If the vet wants to know if you want her to give antibiotics or not, I'd say yes! The sooner the better.
