The vet said that her shell was good but wavy a bit along the edges indicating that she's had bouts of vitamin D deficiency but always managed to bounce back. Her current diet consists of veggies, pellets, fruits and fish but I'm making sure that nothing gets neglected. My mum pointed out that I overestimated her age by 3-4 years. Still, as she's reached the carrying capacity of her tank, I've started scoping out elements for a new habitat.

She coughed up some more food last night. All this food couldn't have been lodged in just her neck so she must be coughing up her stomach contents. I'll have to bring this up to the vet if she doesn' return to her normal behaviour by the weekend.

fruits are not a good thing to have in a diet, to much sugar, have you read the what to feed and what not to feed sections?

Let us know what the vet says, if you bring her to be seen.

well my turtle tipzy is doing the same thing. he croks for some reason and i've been seeing a lot of throw up looking thingys on his turtle dock. so anyways he's still a baby so i think i do overfeed the lil' porker of a turtle..lol so today i gave him 2 tetra fin pellets for baby turtles but it's still a lot for the lil' guy so next time i feed him will be 1 pellet per day. i hope it will stop him from throwing up. :D

Have you seen this info?

http://www.redearslider.com/pellets.html

It gives really good directions on how much to feed your turtle at its different stages of life. It's quite harmful to a turtle to overfeed or underfeed it, so be sure and give the matter some thought.

One suggestion on managing pellets is to get one of the pill holders with seven little compartments that people use. Every Saturday you can fill it up, putting one day's pellets in each compartment, and that way you can be sure not to overfeed or underfeed.

After you've read the info in the link above, if you have any questions, come back and we'll help get you the answers.
