Can you answer these questions?

How big is your turtle?
How long have you had it?

What is the water temperature?
Are you using a water heater?
How much water is in there?
Are you using a water conditioner?
Are you using any filtration?

What is the basking temperature?
Is there a basking light?
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on?
What kind is it or what is it made out of?
Is there a UVB light?

What have you been trying to feed it?
When was the last time your turtle ate?

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure?
Is the tank near a window?
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity?

Have you read the Basic Care section?
Have you searched the forums for similar situations?

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms?

Its not always a vitamin deficiency, there are many other possibilities. And to jump in and to draw a conclusion without having all the facts or information could be dangerous and misleading.

Zain, is it possible for you to post a picture of your turtle?

I do believe you're talking out of your cloaca. Educate yourself before making such an assumption.

Does he ever open the eye? Or is it always closed? Mine close their eyes, but they reopen them. a picture would be instramental ya know.

It can help if it actually turns out to be a vitamin A deficiency. Please answer the above questions (standard practice when posting in the urgent care section) so we can get a better grasp on what may be going on with your little one.

Well if you KNOW this to be true, why are you coming online to a forum asking for help when you already seem to KNOW what you have to do and it's to get your turtle to a vet. Although I agree with jenaero in that those symptoms alone do not constitute a vit A deficency. Normally that affects the eyes but I've not heard about how it affects their appetite and the other symptoms you've mentioned, sounds more like a respirtory infection to me.. but well as you said you KNOW what's wrong. Now just take care of it.

Zain, I believe Cam72 was only replying to Thirzty Turtle. Where your little swollen eyed guy is concerned, it would still help the turtle experts on here for you to answer the standard set of questions. Also, where the swelling is concerned, it really does help to have a picture if that's something you can do.

Good luck!

My goodness.. sorry for that. Yes I was replying to ThirztyTurtles comment and some how thought he was the original poster. Sorry for the confusion.. :( And yes, it does help if you answer the questions so we know what to rule out.
