Hi everyone - thank you for all of the support. Turtle passed away last night, during the night. I am kind of in shock, because she was doing so well. She ate last night before I went to bed, and had been taking her meds like a champ. She was active yesterday too - swimming lots and attempting to get up on her basking dock (which was great!) I have no idea what happened - just woke up this morning and she was dead. Sad day of cleaning ahead. :(

I'm sorry to hear that. Just know that you did all you could :-(

How sad! You did everything you could and it sounded like she put up a good fight too. Sometimes it's just not meant to be. I think there was something sort of complicated going on with her.

maybe you didnt intend for it to come out in a bad way, but think twice about what you said. 50$ is chicken scratch compared to what your going to have to spend in the future. Your looking at 150$ and up worth of equipment, vet visits..etc. Next time, think twice before you post..

On another note, if your turtle hasnt eaten in two weeks..then something is very wrong! I'd take it to a vet ASAP.

What xsavingsaturdayx says is true - I would have paid $$$ to have my beloved Turtle still here with me.

Kalinaballerina, sorry i didnt say this sooner, but here it goes:

I'm sorry for your loss, i know it sucks losing a loved one. But you have to understand that these things happen, death is a natural part of life. You took realy good care of your turtle..unfortunately it was her time to go. Dont let this bad experience ruin the joy of getting another turtle. You seem like a realy loving and responsible person, the two main ingredients for a happy turtle and turtle keeper :)

Go out and make another RES happy :D :!:

kalina, I am too sorry for your loss, and I know you truely love your turts. Ive read your previous posts, and you have put in all the money and care trying to save your little guy, and that means a lot. Im sorry, but when I see people putting a price tag on a turtle, I go crazy. People who say that stuff shouldnt own turtles, or any animal for that matter. I came home just now and said hello to karlyn, and she looked up at me with those little eyes, and then she gave me a smooch (lol she always comes up to the glass and I smooch her)... how could you let money or anything else let that poor little precious creature suffer? Im glad you got approved. You are a good turtle owner.
