Ditto. I was told the same thing many yrs ago when I had to take a turtle to the vet for RI issues.

They dont have "bums", they have rear legs and then a tail and an anus under the tail. And I'm pretty sure you're not injecting into her anus.

I'd really start looking into a better herp vet, moon. It sounds like your turtle needs more medical care, and I wouldn't trust the opinion of your current vet. A second opinion never hurts.
