Actually, he just started nibbling on the romaine lettuce. I don't have a thermometer in the water so I don't know what the temperature is. I heard that room temp is fine and water heaters are a bad idea.

I don't have a thermometer so I don't know exactly what the water temp is. He just started eating some romaine lettuce. But I had to feed it to him in his tank. I usually feed him in a separate bowl to help keep the tank water clean.

You need to know the water and basking area temp. And you probably need a water heater. Baby turtles usually need a high protein diet.

He was on a varied diet until I saw his shell problems so I switched him to a high calcium diet. I've heard mixed reviews about water heaters. A lot of people said I don't need it.

the turtles need the water temp to be at least 75 degrees i would suggest you to get a thermometer and water heaters are fine most of them are adjustable with the temp. They arent bad at all
