I think marisa is talking about using Hibiclens.

Hibiclens is an antibacterial/antifungal hand wash sold for people. I found it at Walgreens with the iodine and such. It's a liquid. Dilute it 50%/50% with water.

I was referring to the Hibiclens. It's active ingredient is chlorohexidine gluconate, the same ingredient that's used in the soap in hospital labs here. Hibiclens in sold for humans, but chlorohexidine is an antimicrobial that's used as a cleanser for animals as well. You probably buy some from your vet. Since there's a higher concentration of chlorohexidine in Hibiclens (4%) than would be recommended for general cleaning, diluting it to 2% strength would be good.

oh ok. the reason i ask is because Shemps shell is kindof weird. it sheds alot and sometimes the color (really dark green) and stuff scares me because when i press it, its not that hard, but then again its still a baby...

the shedding i think was because of the high temps, so i fixed that. i am just afraid of and fungus/bacteria that could disrupt his/her growing shell by manifesting itself under the scutes.

are babies' shells supposed to be a little "soft", like you can press it down with your thumb a little?

Windowskiller, it's nice to see someone noticed the correct spelling of the product.
