I know! Take it to the vet, if it gets bad enough I'm pretty sure it's painful. Do some freakin' chores and get some money, jeez!
From the homegrowers soul, straight to his lungs. That's the method that I myself find fun. Start from seed and then you'll see, just how fun homegrowing can be.

Davis, in reply to your earlier question, removing an abscess is relatively routine and it doesn't require the expensive diagnostics that something like an RI would need, which will keep your vet bill low. I'd say its safe to assume it wouldn't be over $100. Probably only about half of that. But again, your best bet is to call the closest herp vet and ask what their prices are.
It may not look any bigger to the eye, but an abscess is a serious infection and will not go away on its own, so it'd be best if you could get your turtle treated before he gets sicker, which sadly will happen until the abscess is removed and antibiotics are prescribed to kill the infection.
Have you had any luck trying to talk to your father about this? Or perhaps you could ask your mother? Parents really do respond well to their kids being mature about a situation and I'm still hoping that if you explain to your father the reasons the vet visit is necessary and provide him with info on where he can take the turtle and how much it will cost he may help you take the turtle into the vets. Another option is that the holidays are coming up, perhaps this vet visit could be a gift for you, and you could just ask to take the turtle to the vets early... you still have a few options so don't panic yet, at 14 there's only so much you can do, and being wise enough to know that your turtle needs help and trying to get that help for him is a good start :-)

Also davis a lot of vets will allow for payments to be made. This is an excelent alternative.. Maybe they will let you make payments of 10-20 bux a week and you could be done with it in 3ish weeks. Not to bad.

Good news! thanks to good marks from the recent report card, I got enough money to take it to the vet, buy the nessessities for turtles( water heater, lamp, filter ...etc) my old heater was not fully submersible and short circuited, I'm taking it to the vet this weekend!

Check www.carecredit.com It's a credit card for medical, dental and veterinary care. Make sure the vet takes it though!!!!!!! Also, apply for much more than what you think it might cost. They normally approve you for the amount you request, not more. You don't want to run short and from a credit standpoint, you don't want your balance to exceed 50% of your limit. They give instant approvals! The interest rate is high (22%) but worth it in emergencies! Good luck!
