nimrod drowned.
he is still alive, because when i tried to open his mouth to get some of the water out.. he bit me.{i was so relieved when he bit me.. }
he is dry-docked now.. ofcourse.
but iii dont know what to do! i read the thing about what to do if a turtle drowns, and i have done that.
right now he is in his container with his head help up.
blah.
:(
i wake up to go turn the light on and i dont see him anywhere, and so i feared for the worse and i looked under the dock, and sure enough, there he was. just floating there. so i immediatly grabbed him and took him out, and he put his head up and you could see the water draining out of his mouth.
and then i got a container and padded it with paper towel and put it unnder nimrods light.
so.. what do i do?
just wait and hope?

Oh that is too bad for little nimrod. Lucky for him you were there to save his life. I am not sure what you can do for him except keep him warm and away from drafts.

He's a fighter, dont give up on him. Poor thing, yeah something told me you should have dry docked him yesterday..weird huh? Anyhow, if he's okay right now, then he lucked out. Like you said, make sure there isnt anything that he get stuck under/inbetween. Maybe get a small container, with just a little bit of water and have it setup somewhere where the water will stay at a constant 80 degrees?

you did tell me to dock him! erg, i should have :x

he was apparently un-concious until i was trying to open his mouth.. then he got a little fiestier and he bit me.
i think right now im just going to keep him on his dock, its 80 degrees up there, and its a pretty big dock for his size, so he has plenty of room, if he decides to wander, but if he does go back in the water, im going to keep a close eye on him!
and i just tried to pick him up ,to see if he has done any damage trying to get out from under the dock, and he tried to push himself out of my fingers, and he almost managed to do it!so you are right, he lucked out.. big time. {{ and what i did see, there was no damage =] }}

Keep an eye on him for a while to make sure he doesn't start to show signs of a respiratory infection. You might keep him in shallower water for a while until he regains his strength and a bit warmer than usual. It sounds like he was lucky you found him when you did.

If he already has a respiratory infection, there's a fair chance that getting water in the lungs will make it worse or possibly cause a recurrence if he just got over one. I'd just keep an eye on him.

Oh, definitely. He could take Mikey any day. Even after the whole incident. Don't tell Mikey though :lol:

That's what I meant, Nimrod could take Mikey in a fight :lol: I just read it the other way though and I could see the confusion.

But you are doing a great job with him.
