Hi. I have 2 RES turtle hatchlings. I've had them for about 2 weeks now. I noticed what looked to be like one of them shedding their shell. It looks whitish/gold. At first, it scared me b/c it looked pink and I read that meant blood poisoning! I have pink rocks in the tank, so I'm thinking it was making the shell look that way b/c nobody else seems to notice. Is this what shedding looks like ?

it's very light pink on the shell, so i am unsure what this is. I don't want to panic, but I also don't want to wait if it's serious

Don't panic. Just post a picture of the shell in question. If no one else can see what you're seeing, perhaps the pink is a reflection of the pink rocks (blood poisoning wouldn't look like what you've described).

Is the hatchling otherwise eating and active?

A picture, please.

Do you have a camera? If you don't, do a search on this website - or you can google - and see if you can find a photo of a turtle shell that looks like yours. Best thing is a photo of your own turtle, second best is a photo of a similar looking turtle.
