my 5 yr old female slider is always sticking her head, nose, and mouth out of the water...she stands on the rocks and sticks her head out.....she may swim around for a while, go to the bottom for a while, but does the same thing again every couple of minutes.

IS THAT NORMAL OR DOES SHE HAVE A PROBLEM?
is it a breathing problem or what

Looks normal to me. Breathing problem is when a turtle is gasping for air, like
yawning, won't go into water, mucus or bubbles coming out from nose, etc.
If your turtle is eating, swimming, and basking fine, there's nothing to worry about.

That would be your turtle breathing..........

just a guess by the topic....but it sounds like you don't have a basking platform of anykind? not only dooes your turtle need to stick its head out of the water to breathe, but it needs to be able to completely climb out of the water and dry off every day. just a helpful fyi in case you didn't know.
