Urgent Care :: Soft shell i think this is the last night. :-(

My baby RES seems to have a softer shell then usual. He is not active, hasnt eaten in over a week since i got him. His partner in the tank has a hard shell and swims and eats all the time. I am not sure if i should write the one off and just get rid of him or what. I dont have enough money for another tank. Any last monute things i can do? I am goingto New york next time to get a turtle i am done with this online order stuff. lol. Anyway he does not seem to be well, Vet said the other day he did not look that bad except for an infection on his eye which he gave me something for but he has seemed to be going downhil even faster since i brought him. If you have any last minute desperate measure now would be the time.

I don't know what to say. Did the vet say anything about treating him for the soft shell? I was fostering 5 sick res a while ago and one passed away. He was so small and his shell was so soft that the vet said there was nothing he could do. Call your vet in the morning and see what he has to say about it. Sorry, I just realized tomorrow is sunday. Raise the water temp to 82 and that's about all you can do until you can get your vet on the phone. I wish you all the luck in the world. I know this is difficult to see but just hope for the best and know you are doing all you can. Good luck.
