Hi all, I got my baby res 3 weeks ago. Its eating well and has around 3-5 hrs of basking time (sunlight) per day. However i noticed its shell turning white a few days back. What can the problem be?

Its still very active and there's no pungent smell coming from its shell, the texture is normal and it isn't soft.

Hey guys, sorry i had to bump this thread. i tried gently brushing his shell with a toothbrush and it slowly turned green over time. Yes its weird.
However, after his usual 2 hrs of basking it turned white again! whats the problem?
I dont have this problem with my other hatchlings, basking doesn't turn their shellsl white like on this fella!

It's likely fungus and looks whiter when the shell is dry.

Sorry for bumping this thread yet again. This is the issue now. i realise that gently brushing his shell with a wet tooth brush, TURNS it green again. But if it basks, the shell would turn white again. This is so weird, the before and after photos are as follows

His shells also turns green again when its in water.

BTW, brushing doesn't remove any sort of white residue, the shell just turns green after the light brushing.

A dry, white shell is usually mineral deposits but from the picture it looks like fungus. Are both the most recent pictures? Can you post larger ones?
