Urgent Care :: Dumbork puking

Okay totally freaked out now--I just thought she was yawning and then she belched her breakfast just now. it's totally processed btw, no whole pieces, just her usual poop. What should I do? I am monitoring her situation now.

After reading a few posts, it may be that she's just full from breakfast. We're not going to feed her for 32 hours to monitor if she pukes again. Should I take her out of the tank? Here's a pic of her vomit. Usually her poop the same color but firmer, not scattered. Anything I should do?

Update!

Might have overreacted. Sorry if I'm rambling on as usual. She pooped again (I saw it came from the tail end -- did not let my eyes wander anywhere else), and bits and pieces of orange/yellow stuff came out, along with the usual cuttlebone. Will take a pic later.

Found the culprit! It seems to be she had a sugar overload and she's puking it all out. Friday morning we fed her with apple and mango in the morning. After much consulting and reading (my eyes were blurring when I searched for every "throw up/vomit/puke" thread on this forum), I learned that the turtle's system caanot easily handle fruits or any food with a high sugar content since fruits are not easily found in the wild. Here is the latest poop pic. Sorry if any members are eating while reading.

Upon re-reading my posts, it seems like my ideas/theories/statements are conflicting. No, they cannot handle sugar, but it's already been two days since she ate the blasted fruits. Yes, her "vomit" was processed, meaning, I found no yellow/orange things from her vomit (first pic), while I found the yellow/orange things from her poop (second pic). A question arose from there musings: how soon can they poop after they eat? Is the principle food-in -- food-out applies to turtle? I found that with 1 year of turtle keeping experience based on the activities of my own turtle, Dumbork poops within the 45 minutes after each meal. Is the poop she's excreting based from the said meal, or it is from yesterday's dinner/breakfast?

Again, sorry for my mumblings. I find it very therapeutic to share my ideas as I type. I cannot apologize enough for the number of times I say poop,vomit, and puke. again, don't read this thread if you're eating -- it's a bad thing for you and your PC/Laptop/mobile phone/tablet. I found out the the hard way when I was browsing the thread about a member's turtle's penis while drinking coke around lunchtime at the office with my officemates. I cannot explain why I am looking at that specific thread, during lunchtime, and using my computer.

Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Any more thoughts on this behavior? And I mean Dumbork's behavior, not mine.

Now my theory about her being just full of food seemed more feasible. here's her third poop: more firm and consistent. Is there such thing as a turtle cleansing its system by expelling the excess food through both cloaca and mouth? The plus sign through all this ordeal is that she still acted the same, actively swimming in her feeding container, looking around, very active and quirky. Not sure what her behavior will be once I return her to the tank. I saw some vomit or poop around three pm -- I cannot confirm which one is it because I was out of the room at that time. here's the time interval since the vomit:

vomit-5:41pm
poop-7:45pm
poop-8:29pm



Still waiting for the 4th (5th?) poop. hopefully She won't start vomiting again and just poop whatever food that's still stuck in her system. It's weird seeing her vomit the first time: she was laying flat on the bottom of the tank, her mouth was slowly opening (that's why i thought she was yawning at first), and i could actually see the food bits coming from her throat like a big bulge and go out and scatter in the water. Her mouth was really open at its capacity. After a few seconds, she started eating her own vomit. that's when I intervened and put her immediately in her feeding container.

I find this stuff in my female's tank every once in awhile but it always happens before I can see how it happens. I don't know if it's the same thing you're seeing, but throwing up is usually associated with eating too fast. How long was it between her eating and this?

As for when they poop after eating... there is no set time, though some RES are more predicable than others.

Well, I fed her this morning at 7 am and the vomit is at 5pm. I haven't given her any food since.

That happens to my turltes too... I think sometimes I feed them too much, I am trying to feed them less. but that thing on the pictures can be poop or puke? sometime they eat poop if the filter didn't get it quick enough.
