Urgent Care :: New to the turtle thing

Hi everyone, i am posting because i rescued a lil turtle from a pet store that didnt deserve to be open. And after rescuing him i decided to call the Animal people to check the place out due to bad care to there pets. anyways i got this lil turtle he is maybeee 2 inches. his feet are kinda webed and he has very little red on his ears but its there.. and he also has black rings/ spots 1-2 to every lil section on his belly. he looks healthy but when i bought him the gave me a lil plastic tank witha palm tree in the middle and very lil water on bottom .. as i was reading up on them or him AKA Heineken i seen that he should be in a tank of water with a dock.. but im not sure if he is for sure a water turtle because of the way the presented him to me.. and how awful i would feel if he drowed help i am willing to spend all the money it takes to keep Heineken happy!!

Sounds like a red eared slider to me. Do you have any pics?

If he has red "ears", he is a water turtle more specifically a Red Ear Slider. If you haven't done so already, read through the main site (Start Here). And be sure to look through the forum as well. It takes a lot of knowledge to raise a healthy, happy RES but it's well worth it.

Yeah im gonna have to take trip to pet store.. pick him up some new things.. i dont have any pics but i can try to get some done up.. you guys would love him hes a doll

you need to put them on a free hosting site first. Try photobucket.com then copy and paste the urls on your post.

Just a side note, but if you are really unhappy with the care that the pet store gives their animals, you could choose to buy your supplies elsewhere. Just a thought. Welcome to the forum, I can't wait to see your pics!
