I think it's important to call soon because if the abcess gets any more infected it can cause your turtle to stop eating and (s)he'll only get worse, plus it is terribly uncomfortable for them. Also, make sure you're keeping the water extra clean (which is hard with turts

) to help prevent things from getting worse until a vet can see him.
