A few weeks ago we found a little hole on one of the turtle's chin (just right under the mouth). Now theres a hole on another turtle's chin. Do you know whats the problem?

Does the hole go all the way through? Do the turtles live together? Do you ever see them bite each other?

Could you possibly post a pic of the area?

oh wow... looks like you definitely need to seperate them!! And you should take that turt to the vet asap... before it gets infected.... and if its been weeks since you found it, it might already be infected..

I agree that you should separate them ASAP. If the beak areas are chipped from fighting (have you noticed this behavior and any other types of aggression? -- can you check for other injuries?) What have you been feeding them... anything hard, like cuttlebone/turtlebone?

I can't tell much from the pics but is there any blisters or a yellow or white substance around the mouth? Please see a herp vet soon and also ask them to check for stomititis (mouthrot).

It's strange how the same areas have been affected...Have they fight over food that you've noticed? The pics are really dark---are the areas bloody

Separating them and getting them to a herp vet would be good. Keep them in clean water to help prevent infection. If the wounds are "weepy," it might be good to keep them out of the water to let them dry out and get some air on them. They could be hydrated periodically as well as when you feed them.

Yes, they can. They can bite each other in situations including fighting over food (either unintentionally or intentionally), if they become agressive toward each other or if one starts bullying another.

YES! It is how they fight.

Please get those kids to a herp vet & separate them in the meantime just in case.
