So I cleaned my tank last week but didn't change the filters because I didn't have new ones yet. The next day the water started getting cloudy and got worse each day. I thought it might have been the filters. I replaced them and did another full change last night. I get home today and the water is starting to get cloudy again. I have a 55 gallon tank with a RES and musk in it. They are both under 4 inches (going to be upgrading to larger tank soon). What coukd be causing this?

What did you replace in your filter? Sponges and biomedia does not need to be replaced, they should be rinsed out in tank water to preserve the beneficial bacteria living in it. If you changed out your sponges and biomedia your filter is probably going through the cycling process all over again. The cycle may take 2-6 weeks to complete.

Here's a little more information about the nitrogen cycle: http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
