General Care Discussion :: Can’t keep water clear

Hello all!

1st timer here.

I have a 8 yo yellow bellied slider and 1 yo painted turtle in the same 70 gal aquarium. I cannot keep the water clear. After 2 days @ 90% water change it’s back to nasty in 2 days.

I have 2 submersible filters: marine land (up to 96 gal) and a reptofilter large.

I’ve even tried turtle clean, accu clear, reprisafe.

Any suggestions would help.

Hi, welcome to the forum! From the picture, I would suggest to have more water (you will need to re-address how you have the lighting setup, the basking area and screen above the tank) and a canister filter. Easier changes that should help are removing the gravel and considering what you feed inside the tank.
