All of those pieces were rock rock... nothing at all was soft or stretchy. She has a vet appointment at 3:30 so I am taking her and the poop and I will let everyone know what the vet says when I get home :)

It was a broken egg. The vet said it most likely shattered as she was pushing it out since the shell was so thin. They took an x-ray and there are no more eggs or pieces of eggs inside of her. He did give me antibiotics because she has been acting a bit lethargic lately and I don't know how long she has been pooping that green color. So she is fine :)

Nope... last year after she laid Gimli and Marvolo's eggs she had a third egg that was really thin and it shattered but it shattered after she laid it.

I'm glad Nyx is better now. And way to go on identifying the problem!

My turtle eats her poop right after going to the bathroom so I'd never have any way of knowing if she had anything abnormal coming out of her...

I wouldn't have known either if she wouldn't have done it on her dock.

I have only seen turtle poop once. I am sure they do it, but I can't ever find it. Maybe they eat it too...

I am glad that your turtle is okay! And also that you have a decent vet nearby!

Thanks! I am really lucky. My herp vet is partners with my Avian vet and she is the only vet that treats ducks so I really lucked out when she partnered with a herp vet. She used to work at a vet clinic that treated dogs and cats but she opened her own clinic and it is strictly exotics, no dogs or cats allowed which is nice because before I had to worry about loose dogs getting a hold of Bum! Both of the vets have worked many years as veterinarians for the local zoo.
