Good luck at the vet! I hope he'll be okay.

I read through and I don't think anyone's said this yet.....so maybe it's not necessary afterall, but should he seperate the turtles? I think there are 2, right cheech?

I had a feeling it might be a tapeworm :( but didn't want to say anything without a picture.

Since you've got two turtles and they weren't separated, it would be a good idea to bring them both in to be checked. Also bring in stool samples of each.

yeah, they already told me to bring them both in, they will both get treatment...

on a happier note, later today I'm meeting a woman who's selling a 29 gallon tank for $20... so C&C are getting quite the upgrade...

Good luck. This wasn't caused by anything you did. It was those @x!?/% people who had them before - didn't feed the turtles right or keep things clean.

So sorry. Didn't mean to be rude. It just gets to me sometimes when people who buy these little turtles in good faith and get so attached to them have to pay the consequences for the carelessness of the ones that came before. Doesn't seem fair.

No need to be sorry..

And yes it gets me realy upset too. Luckily cheech and chong have their owner who is willing to get them treated :) Not every turtle is lucky, you know.. :?

One of my hatchlings died because of poor conditions they were in before. The good vet told me it was amazing that we saved 2 of 3! They were all sick when we got them.:(

I can't recall if it's already been mentioned, but you'll probably need to go through some sort of steralization process with your tank to make sure your turtles don't get re-infected after they've been treated. Why don't you ask the vet about it.

There was someone who purchased a sick turtle on this forum and the store agreed to pay all the vet bills. It wouldn't hurt to bring this to their attention.
