The water in my tank has turn yellow because of my cork bark, and i plan to clean my tank soon, cause you should see how yellow the water is... anyways, how long should i submerge the cork bark for so i can reduce the amount of water the comes off of it next time i put it in my tank? i submerged it in water for 1 day before i put it in my tank, but that obviously is not enough. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I believe I read that three days helps, but I have also read that it really doesn't stop the yellowing, and that it lasts for a while.

Depending on how much tannin was being released (some pieces seem to release more than others), I've soaked pieces of corkbark for several days, changing the water periodically. Even with soaking, though, it will take time before the corkbark stops coloring the water. It's not bad for the turts, though, and actually makes the water a bit more acidic, which is good.
