Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

and i am wondering if i can put sand insted of those rock stuff
i have one red ear slider it is 10 months old
and i am waiting til i know if its a girl or boy to name it

I don't recommend this for an RES. An RES's tank should be full of water (without giving them room to escape) as they are aquatic turtles that love to swim. Having a basking dock that floats above the water is the better way to go as it allows the water level to be higher.

Also, many people use river rock or nothing as the substrate in their tank as it is safer for the turtle and easier to clean.

it can be filled higer than the one in the pix i have seen them

Of course the pet smart pic has to show a little turtle in a tank full of gravel....Oh man. Id like to strangle the guy who sold me 65 bucks worth of hagen green gravel when i knew nothing....
