Habitat - Indoor :: My 135 Gallon Build

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hey all, now that I've gathered my desired tank size for the right price ($50 WOOH!), my plans to get it up and running are underway. As I mentioned in another thread, I contacted an eBay member who makes aquarium stands and canopies for his local community, and started spreading his design's via eBay for the DIY community. I recently inquired him about creating a custom canopy and stand that would incorporate an ATBA, in which he readily agreed for a lump some of $150. Normally he charges only $15 for the plans but since my design would be his first attempt, I'll be the first one to shell out the start-up fee  Anyway, let me know if any of you are interested and I'd be happy to send you his email. Here is a rough sketch of the design that I sent to him, in which he will make a 3D copy for me very soon of what the finished product will be: Image

What a cool design! Keep us posted on how it works out because that would so close to ideal for the girls when I can find/afford the large tank (150 to 200 gallons) that they need. Of course, I will be working on upgrading other things around here in the interim... reinforcing floor joists to support the weight and a new 40-amp ground fault circuit just for the tank and gear. (Not really that extreme, as I am upgrading my entire electrical service in the spring to accommodate a new HVAC system... so, I figure I should plan on permanence for the girls' accommodations too!) :-)

luckily my tank is in my room in the basement so don't have to worry about the floor. Finals aren't my concern lol its this damn thesis and my education methods class, getting ready to student teach in the spring :?

Yeah well apparently my college is one of the few that REQUIRES an undergraduate thesis :x go figure lol its only required to be between 23-28 pages which isn't at all overly strenuous but still, who wants to do that haha.
