Habitat - Indoor :: can i use beach sand for my turtle

hi guys i was at the beach last week and i took some sand for my res
i was wondering if i could use it .I have wash'it up very good and i have left it in the water for 1 week and today i was going to clean the tank here are some pic (sorry for bad english)

Based from other threads, "Don't use beach sand. It hasn't been cleaned and sterilized. You never know what you'll bring into your tank. You can use pool filter sand or playsand.".

You can let it dry out and bake it to kill whatever parasites and organisms are living in it. Playsand and pool filter sand are much safer as mentioned above.
