I will have to take a look at everything and see what will work. Thanks everybody. We're heading into a warm stretch so I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Well you can forget the ice cube/iced water bottle idea. I put a completely frozen water bottle in his tank Monday and it melted within the hour and only dropped the water temp back down to 80 degrees. Luckily starting tomorrow we're supposed to be cooler so I'll have a little time to plan my next move. In the meantime, I'm going to have to drydock him.

Is it dangerous for the water temp to be 80?

Well he won't get out and bask at that temp. My turtle is older so if you have a baby then 80 probably isn't so bad.

I think 80 is okay, as mentioned your turtle probably won't want to bask at that temperature. You can shade the tank from the sun and put a fan to blow on it to help ease the heat.
If you have a cooler area in the house, dry dock him there during the hot afternoons.

Yeah it looks like drydocking will be the way to go. The temps dropped drastically today so again I'm safe for the next three or four days but when the temps climb back, into his drydock with him. ;)

If it's only for a day or two, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm more worried about when the weather starts to get consistent. ;) Can't go through the whole fungus thing again.
