Habitat - Indoor :: The Winter Pond for Timmy (not all are Timmy now) (PICS)

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Today, while I was cleaning her tank / bin thing, Nyrtle escaped into the front yard and hid in the leaves under my oleander. I was cleaning the bin because every three days I do a full clean out and water change since I don't have a filter in it. Well, I figured it was time to make a filter and upgrade her setup.

I made a filter with PVC piece and a T-attachment, an old Reptomin container, some scrubbing pads, and a small pond pump I had. I was pushing the water into the filter but the pump was too strong and it kept pushing the filter off of it. The filter fit just fine on the intake, though, so now it's an intake filter.

Anyway, this is what I did today.

Here is the initial picture of my new bucket biofilter.

See that beautiful calico koi there in the front? Well, I lost her today. The bucket was close to the wall of the pond and she got herself wedged in between and died.

I didn't anticipate that at all. Ironically, we had named her Lucky.

I have since moved the bucket to the middle of the tank with nothing around it.

I put more media into it today and increased the filtration in the sludge filter part and it's beautiful. Proud moment. Still sad about the fish.

Sorry about Lucky. We had a rescued dog named Lucky, he was such a lovable mutt. Nice work on everything else!
