Habitat - Indoor :: Where to find Cork Bark?

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hello all!!

So if any of you remember my issues with the ATBA with my RES Gertrude, I have had a hard time getting him to use the ATBA. He still doesn't go up there much at all... so I've decided maybe he doesn't like the "acrylic" unnatural feel... so I am going to try something new with cork bark.

Problem is I cannot find Tilly Stuff on Ebay anymore - does anyone know a good place where I can order large pieces of cork bark online? I have found some on Ebay but most pieces are small and wouldn't extend the 17" of my tank's top.

Any help would be great! Thanks everyone!

Large pieces are tough to find, though I would try local florists might also have larger pieces. Reptile stores and shows are bound to have some that you can handle and sift through. Online stores like http://www.corkstore.com might accommodate a request... good luck and let us know if you find anything.

Remember to get a size slightly larger than what you need and that it's bark, not board.

Thanks Steve!

I think I may have actually found a piece on ebay. It's 8" wide and 18" long. The opening in my tank is 17" across, so that should work! Were you suggesting larger than you need merely so you can cut it to size? Or is there another reason I am not thinking of?

I hope Gertrude takes to the cork better than the ATBA.

There are 2 reasons, but it depends on how you want to use it. If you want it level, then you will need to trim it. If it's slightly long then you can put it in at an angle, so it makes it easier to climb onto.
